Now that you know the value of partaking in a hot pot, you might ask yourself which way is the best way to cook a hot pot. Well...all of the above! Sorry, let me clarify. It depends on you and your taste.

If you like something spicy try a Chinese-style hot pot with a Sichuan flavor. It’s great with red meats such as lamb and beef. If you don’t fancy spicy flavors, try a Taiwanese hot pot with chicken stock. It’s delicious with mushrooms and taro. If you like coconut, try an Indian influenced hot pot with coconut curry and massaman paste. You could add rice noodles and tofu as a bonus.

But, that is just the tip of the iceberg. There are thousands or even millions of different types of hot pots, though it doesn’t have to be so complicated. You could simply take the ingredients out of your fridge, whether it’s fish balls, vegetables, fish, or red meat, and put it in boiling water over at the dinner table

WHERE TO EAT HOT POT

There are many places to eat. A local spot I love to go to is Boiling Point. Although, it does have a long line if you don’t go at the right time. Although some would say it is worth it, I personally don’t think it is worth the line. But you don’t have to go out to eat, especially during these times. There is always a homemade option.

There are many types of ingredients and pots to choose from and it could get overwhelming. However, it does not have to be hard. One place to buy pots is HonuSquare, a retail store. There is a variety to choose from, some even coming with a bonus grill or skillet. They are electrical, which means an easier time if you are a beginner, and an easier time cleaning the mess afterward.
